Update on Reopening

Dear Jow Ga Family,

As many of you likely know, Governor Northam implemented Phase 2 of reopening Virginia on June 5, 2020. This allows fitness and exercise facilities to reopen! We are very excited to hear this news but want to prepare you all for the additional requirements we will have in place for the time being. We take your health extremely seriously and we will do all we can to abide by local requirements to keep our community safe.

Reopening date: Monday, June 15, 2020

All Virginia Beach Kung Fu classes. Tai Chi classes will resume on July 1, 2020.

Stay tuned for additional information regarding Newport News classes

COVID-19 Guidelines

  • No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted
    in the establishment

  • No more than 10 students per class

    • If there are more than 10 students, classes will be held outside if weather permits.

    • Additional classes may occur if capacity exceeds 10 students

  • Practice social distancing. Everyone must stay 10 feet apart between all individuals as much as possible

  • Everyone must masks if inside (no exceptions)

  • Use of school weapons is prohibited

    • Please use your own weapons and equipement

  • Arrive at least 15-20 minutes before classes to reduce traffic.

  • No touch or contact drills or use of punching bags until further notice

Personal Prevention Actions

  • Stay home if you’re sick and for at least 72 hours after you’ve recovered. “Recovered” means your fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medications and there is improvement in your respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath), AND at least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before climbing, after using the restroom and after coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue and clean your hands immediately. If you do not have a tissue, use your elbow (not your hands).

  • Do not touch your mouth, eyes, or nose with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid unnecessary physical contact.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

We thank you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility, and we can’t wait to see you back in the gym soon.

Best,

Jow Ga Kung Fu
